The Diesel Engine shall be four stroke heavy duty, low speed (Not more than 1000 rpm), direct injection, compression ignition, water cooled, single acting with supercharging and after cooling to be coupled with AC Generator and exciter. Engine shall be specially designed to operate on high-pressure turbo charging and shall be capable of high specific output with relatively low mechanical and thermal loading. The engine should be designed to operate on Diesel (HSD) fuel only. Number of Cylinders of the Diesel Engine shall not be more than 12 (Twelve).
