Buy Welded Mesh Stainless Steel Grill [UK]

Dear Sir/Madam,

We have an ongoing requirement for stainless steel welded mesh grills (which we will fit to the face of radiant gas heaters).

Please find attached 2 drawings.

The hand drawing is from C.I.G, the manufacturer of the heater. They no longer make grills any longer than
60 " ( 1,524mm) which is why we have to get them locally. They gave us their drawing though. This is for a 12" x 72" heater.

The CAD drawing is something I have had to do for our existing grill manufacturer in the U.K.. This is because our grill manufacturer no longer has the capacity to bend the wires so cannot make the eyes and bends shown in the C.I.G. drawing. Consequently we had to come up with a design without bends (which is very frustrating). The CAD drawing may be of use to you if you too are unable to bend the wires.
However, we would much prefer the grill with the bends and welded loops as per the manual drawing.

The explanation to go with the CAD drawing is as follows:

"SUBJECT : 12x 72 HEATER GRILL IN 304 STAINLESS STEEL

Please see attached drawing the purpose of which is to allow you to make a grill that will to stand off the heater (without your making any bends) and can be to affixed to the heaters by rivets (without any eyes)

The top figure shows (in the colour silve) the face of the heater onto which we want to fit the grill: the heater measures 305 mm x 1,829mm (12x 72).

We must be able to fit the grill using some of the rivet holes in the heater, of which there are 3 on each of the short sided of the heaters. The holes on the long sides of which I have shown 4 can be ignored.

The design of the heater and the location of the rivet holes is a given fact. We need the grill to stand off approx. 12mm to 20mm from the face of the heater.

The centre figure shows the grill.

It is made up as follows:

There will be approx. 144 cross wires (shown in white), 2.5mm dia. by approx. 310 mm long at 12.5mm centres, parallel to the short axis of the heater. These will be positioned 72 either side of a central bar, 5 mm dia. x approx. 310 mm long (shown in green). These wires are 310 mm long to allow us to bend the ends down at approx. 45 degrees towards the surface of the heater.

These short wire will be welded on top of 5 long wires running parallel to the long axis of the heater,
each 5 mm dia. These will be welded to the top edge of the angle iron. Of these, 3, (shown in pink) will not extend beyond the edge of the angle iron so as not to get in the way of the rivet hole, i.e. they will be approx. 1,803 mm long.

The remaining 2 wires, (shown in blue) will be longer, i.e. approx. 1,839 mm to allow us to bend the ends down at approx. 45 degrees towards the surface of the heater.

The angle iron, (shown in yellow) will be 305 mm long x approx. 13 mm wide and will have to be in stainless steel. If you create small holes in the flat surface of the angle-section in line with the rivet holes in the heater we can use these holes to rivet the assembly onto the heater.

The bottom figure shows (in red) the same heater from the side. We propose that you weld the mesh onto the top edge of the stainless steel angle section."

We will have an immediate requirement for 24 such grills.
